The Belize Golf Federation

In Belize there are 2 golfers associations, the BGA since 2004 and the BAGA since 2010, both organize tournaments and have their own members and common members. In the first edition of the Volcanoes Cup that was played in 2018, in San José Costa Rica, the idea of ​​creating a regulatory body for golf in the country was born. Since then, hard work has been done to conclude in March 2021 on the constitution of the BGF (Belize Golf Federation) as the body in charge of the promotion and development of golf in Belize. Affiliation with the National Sport Council and R & A was achieved, to be fully recognized nationally and internationally. Now the BGF together with its 2 members, the BGA and the BAGA, carry out the different tournaments throughout the year, the major tournaments such as The Masters, the Santander Cup, the Ryder Cup, the Belize Open and the annual Match Play tournament. Likewise, the program for beginners and a women's tournament began, to involve more people of all ages to know and enjoy this beautiful sport. By 2023, the plans are to start the Belize First Tee, a program that will be held to initiate children of various ages and have a league for them.
